Bargaining Representative

What is Bargaining Representative ?

A ‘Bargaining Representative’ is a mediator, who bargains for the employee in case of any kind of enterprise-level disputes between the employer and the employees. It might be either a person or any lawful organisation who would be able to bargain with the company on behalf of its workers.

Traditionally, unions undertook this responsibility before companies started appointing an unbiased person or entity to perform this role in case of disputes.

A bargaining representative assures the employees to achieve the best possible outcome of the dispute and any proposed decision taken for their welfare undergoes voting by the affected employees before it is accepted as the final verdict.
