What is Sourcing ?

‘Sourcing’ refers to the practice of actively searching for candidates for the vacant positions, identifying the qualified ones and engaging them to invite them to the organization, instead of waiting for them to apply for the position.

Sourcing is conducted as a part of the talent acquisition process and it might be undertaken by an in-house team of HRs and recruiters or it might be outsourced to third-party agencies who specialize in it and who would already have a pool of talented candidates.

A recruiter or company would use several different channels such as social media, emails, calls, etc. to fulfil their objective. With digitization and social media becoming more relevant, companies have started taking the help of AI to undertake sourcing.
