Affirmative Action Plan

What is an Affirmative Action Plan?

The ‘Affirmative Action Plan’ is the set of steps taken to enforce affirmative actions or policies which ensure that nobody is discriminated against while being considered for a job position based on race, gender, nationality, etc.

Different countries have different laws to safeguard employees from any kind of discrimination in the workplace. Hence, an employer should consult the law before developing an Affirmative Action Plan for his company.

The employer should have regular internal audits and reporting to keep track of employee demographic information. The organization would also be responsible for monitoring anti-discrimination initiatives as well as monitoring the effectiveness of the Affirmative Action Plan.
