What is Business Process Outsourcing?

 

‘Business Process Outsourcing’ is the concept of outsourcing business processes to another company to save time and resources. The other company assumes full responsibility for the given process and assures to provide the output in a predetermined period.

 

Generally, companies outsource processes that are not included in the core activities of the business. Processes like employee management, customer care, etc. are often outsourced to other companies.

 

A similar concept is ‘Knowledge Process Outsourcing’ in which processes that cannot be easily automated are outsourced to another company. KPO and BPO are major revenue-based businesses in which both the companies engaging in it profits from outsourcing the processes.
