The term ‘Wellness Program’ refers to a strategy applied by individuals who take up healthy lifestyle initiatives to stay fit and healthy. The wellness program will have a combination of diet plans, exercises, stress management techniques such as meditation and yoga as well as steps to prevent diseases.
 
Wellness programs can be initiated by individuals to reduce weight, change their lifestyle, undertake fitness challenges or even as a part of some therapy session. The main takeaway here is that the individual is performing these activities as a part of improving their overall mental and physical health.
 
HRs can aid their employees in developing and maintaining a fitness and wellness program by conducting sessions to raise awareness about their importance or even actively help the employee maintain their routine. This will not only increase employee engagement, but also improve their productivity drastically, thus becoming a profitable endeavour for all parties involved.
