The Goa has recently revised the minimum wages for their workers. It has been on effect  from 11 August 2023. From SMEs to big agencies, employers are required to pay variable dearness allowances (VDA) to the workers. The state is categorised into Zone A and Zone B. Zone A involves areas under the city of Panaji and municipalities like Margao, Vasco, Mapusa, Ponda, Cuncolim, Quepem, Curchorem, Sanguem, Cancona, Pernem, Valpoi, Sanquelim, and Bicholim.  And zone B ensures the regions of Cansaulim, Assolna, Colva, Colvale, Baga, Calangute, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim, Benaulim, Majorda, Mobor, Chopdem, Mandrem, Arambol and Cavelossim. The minimum wages in Goa is divided into the following zones:

In conclusion, as per the Indian Constitution, Minimum Wages ensure a sustainable lifestyle for workers. The Minimum wages in Goa are distributed within two zones and numerous categories. The rate has been effective from 11 Aug 2023. The motto of revising the Minimum Wages is to support the base level of employment and ensure viable continuous improvement from unskilled to skilled, superskilled  workers.
